Religion is a Mental Illness #2

Alright, I've been swamped with telegrams of support from all over the world and with letters begging me to clarify the previous post, so here we go:

If you are even a little bit religious in this day and age, you are: a fucking idiot, a disgusting coward, an evil scumbag, a brainwashed ignoramus, or a complete piece of shit, and most likely all of the above. No exceptions, no excuses.

If you are an atheist, don't pat yourself on the back just yet. Yes, I know we are healthier, smarter, and better than them. That part was easy. The problem is that we know this and we're treating them like sicker, stupider, and lower beings who need to be pandered to.

Stop that. They are not children and will not grow up. Their god is not tooth fairy and is not benign. It is time to stop giving them space for their bullshit. It is your duty to tell them what you really think about them and their delusions the next time you get a chance - and you know they'll give you one soon.

Agnostic is the way to go. Atheists actually have faith in something, the fact that 'there is no God', agnostics don't give a shit about anything until it proves itself to their senses.

Actually, as Richard Dawkins points out in The God Delusion, I am a level 6 out of 7 on the theist-to-atheist spectrum. I believe that it is very unlikely that there is a god. Under your definition that may make me, too, an agnostic. Under mine, it makes me an atheist. I am not 100% certain that there is no god. 100% certainty would, indeed, require faith. I am saying that, based on the available evidence, I believe, well beyond a reasonable doubt, that there is no god.

Not some lame public diary, just a way to occasionally publish stuff.
